In 2025, shortly after its launch, Accordion Table received its first international recognition — the BIG SEE Product Design Award.
Organised by BIG SEE, the award celebrates creative excellence across South-East Europe and brings together architects, designers, and makers from the region. The ceremony is held annually in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
At the time we received it, Accordion had only just begun.
There were no expectations of awards. The focus was simply on building the table properly: refining the mechanism, respecting the material, and staying close to the original idea.
Receiving this recognition so early came as a genuine surprise. It felt like a quiet affirmation that thoughtful design, even when it begins in a small town like Virovitica and grows from Slavonian oak, can resonate beyond its immediate surroundings.
We are grateful to the BIG SEE jury for recognising the intention behind the product; not only the mechanism, but the way of living it supports.
Being seen at the very beginning of the journey gave the project confidence to continue building carefully, deliberately, and with patience.
Sometimes, the first recognition matters most because it arrives before you expect it, and before you know where the path will lead.
